Who we are

We are the Fun Flyers model airplane club, AMA club # 1404.

Most of our club members fly radio control, however there is a control line circle at the field, and a few of us use it. We have a paved runway for RC with plenty of short grass for takeoffs and landings, and the control line circle is grass.

Our flying field is located just a few miles from Molalla, Oregon. We have fun flying helicopters and fixed wing model aircraft, both liquid fueled and electric. Our goal is to have fun and be safe.

In the winter, we also fly indoors twice a month.

Joining the club is easy. Our dues are $60 per year, plus $60 initiation fee. For new members joining after January, the dues are pro-rated at $5 per month (i.e. if you join in May, you'll pay $40 for the dues). The best way to pay is by check or cash at a club meeting. The dues help take care of regular expenses. The initiation fee helps pay for expenses and capital improvements that have already been made to the field (as well as discouraging people from trying to pay dues during the summer season only).

AMA insurance is required to fly, no exceptions. You can apply on-line with the AMA at http://modelaircraft.org.

Club meetings are usually the first Friday or Saturday of the month. During Spring and Summer, they are at the field on a Saturday at 12 noon. In Fall and Winter, we usually meet at a church in Oregon City on a Friday night at 7 PM.
